What happen to Patricia Ann Wood???

Every state in America has a missing person case and sometimes the police got nothing to work with in the case. There been times where the missing person doesn’t get reported missing till years later because the family start looking for them or they find out some info that makes the worry. The reason why someone can go missing without the family not looking for them because they may had a falling out or the family just think they don’t want to be found. That for case with teens and adults but what happens if it a child?? That’s when the foul play comes to mind or even the child run away from home but most of time the kids would come back but not all the time. Also you get cases where it the parents are the ones who made their child  disappear but kidnapping them or sometimes killing them. The case of Patricia Ann Wood is one case where truth of what happens to her may never be known .

The case first came to light in 1987 when police would told about a family dark secret that when back twelve years. The story was about Patricia Ann Wood, A Four-year girl who when missing in 1972 and no one in her family reported her missing to the police. Patricia Ann Wood was born on Oct. 12, 1972, in South Carolina her dad was John Wood and soon her mom gives full custody of Patricia to John Wood. Patrica moves with her dad to live with him and his new family that included his wife Judith Wood and his step kids in Swanzey NH. In her know, four years of life would fill with reported abuse with her getting treated frequently between 1972 and 1974 for a variety of injuries. On April 1974, Patricia ended up at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital in Hanover with brain swelling and convulsions and lapsed briefly into a coma. The doctors reported the suspected abuse to the state and Patrica was put into foster care for four months. Patrica was soon giving back to her dad and step and the state's child welfare officials closed the case despite concerns voiced by doctors.

In 1976 Patrica just disappear with no one asking or ever looking into what happen to her but John and  Judith Wood had many stories on what happen to her.  When they would ask by friends and family John Wood and Judith Wood say Patricia was living her mother. Than Patrica's mom ask the Woods where she was because she want to see her daughter John Wood and Judith Wood told her that Patrica was killed in a car accident and Patrica's mother never look into it. As the years when by Patricia Ann Wood was just forgot about and it was like she had  never existed. Twelve years later the case when one of Patricia's step step  sidings told the police on what happen and what his parents told him over the years. In 1987 police would that Patricia was killed by her dad and her step mother and was killed inside a bathtub. Soon the police start to looking into the case and than the Investigators started to talk to the parents and  others like the woods' other kids in this case.

As the Investigator talk to the children of the woods they would told how Patrica was who was always being disciplined by her dad and step mother. When the police when to talk to the parents only Judith  was home and she  became very defensive. and Judith never really answered the question: Where's Patty. The police hope they could talk to both Judith and John the next day but the hopes would soon crushed because the Woods killed themselves the next day. Investigators search and dig up the backyard of the woods'  property in hopes of finding Patrica's remains but nothing was found. Witnesses came forwards saying they saw the Woods in the Gilsum-Alstead area where there's some old mines the night before they killed themselves. In Judith and John woods' obituaries made only references to their other kids but no references to Patrica was made. Over the years the case has bee moved to the state's cold cases unit but unlike other New Hampshire's cold cases like Maura Murray, Patrick Merrill, Carrie Moss and Luella Blakeslee there a single file folder for the Patricia Ann Wood's case. The New Hampshire's Cold cases unit have say this case may never truly be solved but hope one day they could find her remains to give Patrica a decent burial.

My Take

In this case it clear what happen to Patricia Ann Wood but with very little evidences to work with in this case to proof it. The NH's cold cases unit is trying there's best with what they're giving for evidences and no body they can never called the case solved. There's maybe a little hope that she could be alive because she was sold or left somewhere and she doesn't  remember her past.
Hope one day Patrica will be found
